Catalyzing worker co-ops & the solidarity economy

Announcement: meet.coop 2.0 is here!

We are delighted to announce that the transition to meet.coop 2.0 is underway, with a new cooperative team in place, fresh impetus, and the same mission: to provide a values-driven
solidarity economy alternative to the big-tech video-conferencing platforms.

3 key things you need to know about this transition:

1: A New Cooperative Team
Coop WEBTV, the Canadian web streaming cooperative, has now taken over back-end operations and innovation.coop, working in close collaboration with the team at Brickless cooperative, is looking after the front end. Representatives of both groups met in September in Montreal, Canada to discuss the new collaboration, which is going really well.

The new team stands on the shoulders of the pioneering cooperatives that have built meet.coop over the last three years. We pay tribute to their vision, their passion, and their labour.

2: New Features Are On The Way
The new meet.coop team are already planning to implement a series of upgrades to our open source platform which will deliver a raft of new features for users, including:
  • Improved whiteboard
  • Custom backgrounds
  • Language options
  • Audio/video stability improvements
  • Improved moderator tools
