This session will explore the power of cooperatives working across three very different contexts: Seikatsu Club Consumers’ Cooperative, Cecosesola and Ventures. It will explore how the cooperative economic model provides benefits both for employees and the communities they serve. 

In 1973, Teruko Mizushima started the Volunteer Labor Bank in Japan - the world's first time bank. This article tells the history of the Volunteer Labour Bank and looks at the legacy of Mizushima's project today.
